Kyle Farnsworth: You Spoke the Truth, Now Expect a Trade

Kyle Farnsworth publicly criticized Roger Clemens' "family plan" clause yesterday, and that can only mean one thing.

He wants to be traded.

Farnsworth was absolutely, positively correct in his criticism of Clemens' special treatment. No one else on the team goes home between games, so why should Roger?

Fair or not, though, the Yankees' $20 million plus on the table makes it pretty easy to figure out who they'll side with if things get ugly between Clemens and Farnsworth.

So Kyle, if you wanted to retire a Yankee, you just made a big mistake. But if your bags are packed and you're already researching hotspots in Pittsburgh, speaking the truth about Roger was just the right move.

Clemens demand for special treatment is disrespectful to his teammates and he should be ashamed and embarrassed... as a Yankee fan, I know I am. I don't care how many games he wins.

It is even more disgraceful that the Yankee front office accepted this and that the Commissioner of MLB is permitting it. I know its about the money but even as a business decision don't you agree that it is short sighted and plain stupid?

While Clemens may sell more tickets at home and especially away this year, don't the baseball owners know that the quality of play on the field will suffer because their players may resent being treated as second class citizens? Instead of getting more out of their players they will get less. How is this good business?

By giving Clemens special treatment and allowing a double standard for the first time, don't owner's know that they will be faced with difficult personnel decisions when other players ask for the same or more, especially during contract negotiations? How is this good business?

Don't they know you can't put an individual ahead of the team?
